Yearbook orders are still being accepted. Don't forget to place your pre-order! Simply send $25 in an envelope labeled with your child's name, homeroom teacher's name, and designate on the envelope that it is for the yearbook.

Congratulations to our Teacher of the Year, Coach Blevins, and our Teacher Assistant of the Year, Ms. Billings! They both work tirelessly in many aspects of our school, from educating children to numerous behind the scenes committees and responsibilities. They always have a smile and a "can do" attitude. We are blessed to have them at our school!

East Wilkes High School Senior, Salem Sparks, made this food pantry and placed it in our front courtyard as part of her senior project. This pantry, known as "Hunter's House," will offer free food staples for community members and student families, who may access it as needed.
Donations are welcomed and appreciated! MFES is having a Peanut Butter Battle during the month of January to collect jars of Peanut Butter to help stock the pantry. The homeroom who collects the most Peanut Butter by February 3 will earn a class pizza party!

Want a great way to celebrate your child? Rent the school spirit rock for a week! Paint the rock in honor of your child's birthday or other special occasion. Detailed information is available by clicking the link above or calling our Parent Liaison, Lisa Barnett.

We would like to welcome some new faces to our campus! Amanda Pendry is our new Secretary & Bookkeeper, replacing Ms. Kathy who is enjoying a much deserved retirement. Sydney Nickles has replaced Amy Williams as Data Manager. (Amy left to be a stay-at-home mom.)
Mandy Norton has transferred in as a 1st Grade Teacher, and Jaimee Bauguess will be our ESL teacher this year.
We are excited to have these new ladies and look forward to our upcoming school year together!

Rising 6th graders....we have a great opportunity for you! This summer Wilkes Central Middle School will be offering a FREE Summer Bridge & Career Accelerator Camp! The camp is for 2 weeks & will help students become more acquainted with their new school & explore possible pathways to graduation. Registration Deadline is April 29.
