Meet the Administrator

Dr. Weddington, with 21 years of experience in education, has returned to the HIVE with a wealth of experience and a deep-rooted connection to our community. His journey in Wilkes County Schools has included teaching at Mountain View, Traphill Elementary, and Moravian Falls Elementary, as well as serving as assistant principal at Central Wilkes Middle School and Wilkes Central High School. His familiarity with our schools, students, and families makes his return feel like a true homecoming.

Beyond his impressive career in education, Dr. Weddington brings a unique talent to our school family — he is a professional trumpeter who performs at a variety of events. Whether he's setting the tone at a school celebration or sharing his love of music with students, his artistry adds a special spark to everything he does.

We are blessed and honored to have him lead our school during the 2026-2027 school year as we continue to RISE together!
